CHAPMAN AVENUE REHABILITATION PROJECT, ORANGE, CALIFORNIA
The City of Orange selected Kabbara Engineering to prepare the design of construction plans, specifications and construction cost estimates for the rehabilitation of Chapman Avenue from Lorretta Drive to Hewes Street (approximately 1.2 miles). The work on this major arterial highway through the City of Orange was federally funded with AHRP funds and included field design survey, aerial topography, geotechnical investigation and report, and traffic signing striping and loop replacement plans. Kabbara Engineering was responsible for the development of various pavement alternatives and recommendations for the project, including analysis of existing and proposed cross sections, and local depressions in the number 3 lanes for drive-ability. This project also included the design of detectable warning devices per ADA requirements on all curb ramps, and reconstruction of all damaged concrete curb, gutter, medians, driveways, local depressions, and bus pads within the project limits. Project also included coordination of Caltrans Certification and funding applications for the project.
