HIDDEN CREST DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, LAGUNA NIGUEL, CALIFORNIA
The purpose of this project is to mitigate the flooding problems which were occurring at the Hidden Crest Way/Baroness Lane knuckle, in the Concord at Laguna Heights residential
community. The Concord at Laguna Heights community is served by two separate drainage systems. The City of Laguna Niguel retained Kabbara Engineering to prepare construction plans, specifications and estimates to upgrade an existing storm drain system in order to alleviate flooding in a sump area with no secondary outflow, within a residential neighborhood and to improve underground runoff conditions at an existing parkway culvert outlet on street of the Golden Lantern (major arterial highway). Kabbara Engineering performed an extensive hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of the existing and proposed conditions, including street flow modeling and identification of errors in the original design. Project included approximately 1,100 l.f. of 30″ RCP and 300 l.f. of 24″ RCP storm drain, catch basins and appurtenances. Also included sidewalk, driveway, curb & gutter reconstruction and landscape planting and irrigation for restoration of private yards and common area slopes.
