ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS, PICO RIVERA, CALIFORNIA
Kabbara Engineering prepared final construction documents for the Rosemead Boulevard Capital Water Main Improvements, from Washington Boulevard to Coffman-Pico Road for the Pico Water District. The project included design of plans, specifications and estimates for the installation of a new 14-inch ductile iron pipe water transmission main and appurtenances as required to serve a new commercial development on the northwest corner of Rosemead Boulevard and Washington Boulevard. Project plans included details and specifications for the installation of new manifold domestic meters and services, fire hydrants, irrigation meters and services, fire services and double detector check valves, and other miscellaneous improvements. The District also tasked Kabbara Engineering with the plan check review and coordination of the water service requests from the developer and encroachment permit and construction coordination with the City of Pico Rivera, who was concurrently in construction for the rehabilitation of Rosemead Boulevard within the project limits. Kabbara Engineering expedited the design of the construction documents to allow the Pico Water District to construct the water main within the time frame allowed by the City of Pico Rivera. Project included approximately 11,700 l.f. of new water main construction and special connections to existing ACP lines in the Washington Boulevard intersection. This project also included a trench pavement recommendations, traffic signing and striping, and coordination with utilities and the City’s construction contractor. Kabbara Engineering also provided construction engineering support to the District’s inspector throughout the duration of the project construction. Project was completed within budget and on-schedule, with no design or construction change orders.
